GALVANIZED
GALVANIZED STEEL:
Steels for cold forming applications
Galvanized steel is a rolled steel with a core that is coated with a metallic layer of zinc by means of a hot-dip galvanizing process. This metal combines the strength of iron with the corrosion resistance of zinc, which increases with the thickness of the galvanization. In addition, galvanized steel has excellent forming properties, which means it can be applied to a range of steel grades.

Metallic zinc coatings are available in steel grades ranging from bending and deep drawing steels to structural and high-yield point steels. A glossy surface finish is available on request, obtained by skin-pass processing, which eliminates the uneven surface of the steel and gives a better surface finish to the product. This increases the formability of the steel sheet.

Use of galvanized steel:
• Mainly used in construction: door frames, metal ceilings, partition walls…
• Household appliances
• Miscellaneous applications: road signs, air conditioners, electric cables
