Sidastico packing
Sidastico takes great care in packing the steel sheets in bundles in order to guarantee:
- The safety of operators handling the bundles and using the steel sheets
- The preservation of the surface quality and flatness of the sheets during transport and storage, guaranteed by Sidastico’s technology
- The minimal environmental impact of Sidastico steel sheets: we do not use side protectors, strap protectors or other unwanted packaging.
- steel sheets packed in bundles with 19x0.8mm metal straps, in accordance with ASTM A700-5;
- bundles stacked on 35x60mm loose wooden spacers i.e. not strapped to the sheets, arranged in the direction of the sheet width, one per linear metre of bundle length;
- each bundle weighs between 2 and 4 tonnes, depending on the thickness and length of the steel sheets.

- bundles stacked on 65x80mm wooden spacers, with grooves on the supporting side and strapped to the steel sheets, arranged in the direction of the sheet width, one per linear metre of bundle length; please note that the length of the bundle cannot exceed 6,000 mm for this type of packing.
- each bundle weighs between 2 and 4 tonnes, depending on the thickness and length of the steel sheets.
- bundles stacked on pallets consisting of cross and lengthwise wooden elements nailed together and strapped to the steel sheets with 19x0.8mm metal strapping, in accordance with ASTM A700-5
- each bundle weighs between 2 and 4 tonnes, depending on the thickness and length of the steel sheets.
- compared to other types of packaging, pallets may take longer to produce.
- on request, the sheet metal bundles can be protected with a grey PVC film
- depending on the thickness of the sheets, the PVC film will be wound in a spiral around the bundle, i.e. stretched over the top of the bundle and secured with metal packaging straps
Remarks:
The standard weight of Sidastico bundles varies from 2 ton to 4 tonnes, depending on the thickness, width and length of the steel sheets.
Orders for very short steel sheets or very light bundles may be subject to a surcharge due to increased production or packing costs.
